In the United States, in-single-member constituencies are called special elections. They are held when a seat in congress has become vacant at the local level.
In Scotland and New Zealand, by election may be held to fill the vacancy or all seats in the constitution become vacant to be filled. In the event of the vacancy arises because of death or resignation by members of parliament by-elections have to process. This is so called In-Multi-member constituencies.
If I am not wrong to say, our aim and objective are reforms of the country, to enhance our economic system, to save from the poverty-stricken lives, to promote the unlimited developments and right of freedoms so that the citizens of Myanmar would equally have participated in the Open Democratic country. The Open Democratic means “ a system where the public decides how they should be governed and having power to continuously improving the system”. In some countries if there is any change to be made, the public voting system is established and once the board received satisfactory results they only implemented with their changes. These are the elements of democratic country.
I have no idea that which democratic system that our leaders are aiming to achieve. So many talks are progressed. So many meetings are going on. I would imagine so many foreign investments on the way.
There are varieties of democracy. However I would like to think that our country may be suitable for the open democracy. This is my pure opinion of course. There is another type of Democracy which is constitutional democracy. This is governed by the constitution. I pretty sure we are leading towards constitutional democracy. What is in your mind?
Another one is defensive democracy. A democratic society has limited rights and freedoms in order to protect the constitutions of democracy. In my opinion, this is not preferable to me. However it can be happened also.
Economic democracy is the theory of democracy that involved people have access to subsistence, or equity in living standards Multi-party democracy is two-party system, requires voters to align themselves in large blocs. Sometimes they cannot agree on any overarching principles. To me, honestly, two parties system is competitive and one party is closely checking the other party’s weakness and wrong doings. They could against each other in arguing to get the best benefit for the public. I don’t mind this system. If one party is increasing the taxes, the other party will consider this is the weakness of present positioning party. Therefore the other party will definitely persuade the public that if the public gives votes to them, they will tackle the high taxes to be lower to get the best benefit for the public etc.

Which party be the best for you to get the best benefit and the best fit -in for our citizens?
There are also types of elections. These would be fixed-term election, general election, indirect election and local election. Do you know which election are we in for April 2012 by-elections?
Fixed-election is meant for mayors, governor, president, prime minister, parliament and parliamentary government. The set date of each election cannot be changed.
In a parliamentary system, a general election is an election in which most members of political bodies are chosen. Primary legislative body and this includes by-election and local election.
Indirect election is a process in which the voters do not actually choose between candidates for an office. This system is still used for upper houses and the presidents. This process is also used in union elections.
The roles of local elections such as mayors, city, town, region and political careers are often made.
I believe this is a general view of by-elections and I am certain that our news reader and politicians may know more than these. This is a brief explanation on by-elections that will come to us in the near future.
No matter what our constitutions are being drawn all we deserve is a quality life, freedom and human rights. There may have some outstanding rules and regulations to be reviewed and required to amend as these had been set up by the previous military government since 1962. One classic example is that we were told to report the Ward Council and the Police when the visitors were visiting your home overnight. This rule was constructed after the country was nationalized in 1962. This had never been removed although the President was appointed in 2010. We still have to obey this although the constitutions were changed in other sections. If our country is become a democratic country, I am wondering the Ward Council, Township Council and any other boards should also be removed as these were formed by the military regime government previously since 1962.

What “By-Election” means to you
Days were past. Weeks were gone and the past months were left behind. The activities for by-elections are speedy progressed. The by-elections are approaching. It is now around the corner.
The promising campaigns are still progressing daily. The organizations of NLD party are also pro-actively traveling far and wide, from so many miles to so many miles and nationwide so they could fulfill unfinished tasks and commitments that are outstanding.
We could hear the crowds. We could see the crowds. We could understand the crowds and their desire We could measure it by watching them. The leaders of NLD are encompassed by the crowds which indicates that encouragement in reforming and changes to be made to save from our poverty-stricken life and to establish democratic system and implementation of human rights.
It was on the 9th of February during the gathering NLD youth members the NLD leader Ms Aung San Suu Kyi urges the young generation to respect people, to value people and to focus on the by elections.
Having talked about by-elections I thought it would be my pleasure in sharing my findings and knowledgeable experience with all readers and the young generations if I could write a few things about “ by-elections “. I am certain that it is highly knowledgeable experience for the young generations and the respectable citizens of Myanmar. Everyone in the country knows about the elections and voting as such.
Frankly speaking, by-election known as a special election as it is an election to fill a political office that becomes vacant between regularly scheduled elections. Regular scheduled elections are run every four years which everyone is aware of. Now this by-election has also been called as a constituency election.
There are two types of constituencies and the first one is In-Single-member constituencies and the second one is In-Multi-member constituencies.
