The world has forgotten that these elections were announced back in 2003 as part of a so-called seven-stage road map to democracy. They were announced then because the world was outraged after the regime-sponsored attempt to assassinate Suu Kyi. At last it seemed like the international community would introduce tough, targeted sanctions.
(ဆီေလ်ာ္ေအာင္ ဘာသာျပန္ရရင္ - ) ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပဲြ လုပ္မယ္ ဆုိတာ ၂၀၀၃ ကတည္းက ေၾကညာထားမွန္း ကမၻာက သတိမထားမိၾကဘူး။ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပဲြက ဒီမုိကေရစီ လမ္းျပေျမပုံ အဆင့္ ၇ ဆင့္ ဆုိတာထဲက အဆင့္ ၁ ဆင့္ေပါ့။ စစ္အစုိးရက ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ကုိ လုပ္ႀကံသတ္ျဖတ္တ့ဲ အစီအစဥ္ေၾကာင့္ ႏုိင္ငံတကာက ေဒါသထြက္ၾကလုိ႔ သူတုိ႔က အဲဒီလုိ ေၾကညာလုိက္ရတာပဲ။ ဒါနဲ႔ပဲ ႏုိင္ငံတကာက ပုိၿပီး ျပင္းထန္တ့ဲ၊ ပစ္မွတ္ထားတ့ဲ ပိတ္ဆုိ႔မႈေတြနဲ႔ တုံ႔ျပန္ခ့ဲတာပါ။
Burma's generals hoped the promise of elections would avoid strong pressure. It worked. For seven years the international community has told us to wait and see what happens. Our suffering has continued.
ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြ က်င္းပ ပါ့မယ္လုိ႔ ကတိေပးလုိက္ရင္ ဖိအား အျပင္းအထန္ ေပးခံေနရတာေတြကေန သက္သာရာရမယ္လုိ႔ ျမန္မာဗုိလ္ခ်ဳပ္ႀကီးေတြက ထင္ထားပုံ ရပါတယ္။ သူတုိ႔ ထင္တာ မွန္ပါတယ္။ ႏုိင္ငံတကာ အသုိင္းအ၀န္းကေတာ့ က်မတုိ႔ကုိ ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ပါလုိ႔ ၿပီးခ့ဲတ့ဲ ၇ ႏွစ္လုံး ေျပာခ့ဲတယ္။ က်မတုိ႔ (ျပည္သူေတြ) က ဆက္ၿပီး ဒုကၡေရာက္ရတာေပါ့။
Once these elections are over there must be no more excuses, no more calls for us to "wait and see". We cannot allow these elections to masquerade as part of a progress towards democracy that legitimises the junta's ongoing persecution of the people. The idea that we might, scares me.
ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြ ၿပီးရင္ေတာ့ ဆင္ေျခေပးတာေတြ အေၾကာင္းျပတာေတြ မလုပ္ပါနဲ႔ေတာ့။ "ေစာင့္ၾကည့္ပါဦး" လုိ႔လည္း ထပ္ မတုိက္တြန္းပါနဲ႔ေတာ့။ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပဲြ ဆုိတာဟာ ျပည္သူေတြကုိ အဆက္မျပတ္ ဖိႏွိပ္ေနတ့ဲ စစ္အုပ္စု တရား၀င္ ျဖစ္သြားေအာင္ လုပ္ေပးမယ့္ဟာပဲ။ စစ္မွန္တ့ဲ ဒီမုိကေရစီ ေဖာ္ေဆာင္မယ့္ ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြမွ မဟုတ္ဘဲ။ ဒီေရြးေကာက္ပဲြကုိ သေဘာတူ လက္ခံလုိ႔ မျဖစ္ဘူး။ ဒီလုိ ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြမ်ဳိးကုိ လက္ခံလုိက္ဖုိ႔ တုိက္တြန္းေနတာေတြဟာ တကယ့္ကုိ ေၾကာက္စရာ ပါပဲ။
ဗမာလဴမ်ိုးေတြဒါမ်ိုးကိုအတုခိုးသင့္တယ္။ ငါ့အေဖေထာင္က်ေနလို့ငါေတာ့စစ္အစိုးရမေကာင္းေႀကာင္းဘာမွမေၿပာရဲဘဴး ဆိုတဲ့လဴကအၿပည့္။ တခ်ို့မ်ားကိုယ့္လုပ္စာကိုယ္လုပ္စားၿပီးကိုယ့္သိကၡါမွအားမနာ အရွက္မရွိ သံအမတ္သြားဖါးေနတဲ့လဴလဲရွိတယ္။ ဘယ္ေလာက္ရွက္ဘို့ေကာင္းလဲ။
ေထာင္တန္းက်ေနတဲ့နိုင္ငံေခါင္းေဆာင္မ်ား ဆနၵၿပပြဲေတြမွာက်ဆံုးသြားတဲ့မ်ိုးခ်စ္ပုဂ္ဂိုလ္မ်ား အင္န္အယ္လ္ဒီနဲ့ ေဒါာေအာင္ဆန္းစုႀကည္တို့ရဲ့မ်က္နွာကိုေထာက္ေသာအားၿဖင့္ ၿပည္လံုးက်ြတ္ ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲကို တညီတညြတ္ သပိတ္ေမွာက္ႀကပါစို့။
